Why Åre works for conferences
Åre removes the two things that usually complicate a conference: travel and logistics. No passports, no currency, no connecting flights – and once the group is there, everything is within the village. The mountain gives the trip a shape that a city hotel cannot: people ski or walk together in the afternoon and the conversation carries into the evening. Two genuine seasons, winter and summer, which are different trips rather than the same one in different weather.
Hotels and meeting venues in Åre
Copperhill Mountain Lodge sits above Åre Björnen with the view down the valley and conference facilities built for larger groups – the obvious anchor when the whole company is coming. In the village itself, Hotell Åregården puts everything within walking distance, which matters when the evening moves between three places. Tott Hotel is the ski-in alternative slightly above the centre. For a smaller group that wants the place to itself, Åre Fjällsätra and similar lodges take whole-house bookings.
Activities and dinners in Åre
In winter the slopes do most of the work, and a group with mixed ability is fine because Åre has terrain for everyone plus instructors who can take the beginners. Snowmobiles and dog sledding fill the afternoons for anyone who would rather not ski. In summer the same mountain becomes downhill biking, and the cable car takes the group to the top of Åreskutan for a walk down. Dinners are in the village, where the kitchens are better than a Swedish ski resort has any obligation to be.

What does a conference in Åre cost?
Prices start at around SEK 7,500 per person and depend on group size, accommodation, season and how much programme you want. High winter season costs more than late spring or summer.
How do you get to Åre?
Fly to Åre Östersund in about an hour from Stockholm, then roughly ninety minutes by coach. The night train is the other option and puts the group in Åre in the morning without losing a working day, which suits some groups better than it sounds.
Does everyone need to be able to ski?
No. Åre has beginner terrain and instructors used to corporate groups, and there is always a parallel activity for anyone who would rather not be on skis at all. Nobody sits in the hotel waiting for the others.
When is the best time for a conference in Åre?
Two seasons, two different trips. December to April is skiing, with March and April giving the best light and the most reliable weather. June to September is hiking, biking and fishing, quieter and cheaper, and the days barely get dark.
